Oahu Artist Jesse Douglas is our Featured Artist for August.

Born and raised on Oahu, Jesse was surrounded by a creative family. His mother, Chris Bayot is an amazing glass artist and calligrapher, and his father John Valentine, is a professional musician and pencil artist.
Jesse studied graphic design through middle school and high school while taking drawing and painting classes. He also started doing free-lance spray paint art during high school. Jesse went onto study digital design at Honolulu Community College and then at the University of Colorado, Denver, where he also studied fine art.
Notably, Jesse was hired by the City and County of Honolulu as a mural artist. He created murals at Kipapa Elementary School, Wahiawa Botanical Gardens, Foster Botanical Gardens and on electrical boxes around the island. Today Jesse teaches sip and paint classes for private parties, and does commissioned work for clients around the world.
